He's hard, he has no friends, he never sleeps, and is grumpy due to the fact that there are greasy hoods everywhere and only one of him, his disdain for grease is fierce, his entire life killing grease. he knows nothing but killing grease. Grease trembles at the mention of his name.

Backgrounder

Raised in the little down of Rio Claro in the southeast corner of Brazil, he descended from 26 Tanzanian queens. His father lead a rebellion against the evil biologist Warwick E. Kerr. Due to his fathers heroism thousands were able to escape. While they were running from there pursuers a horrific event took place. The swarm was flying over the local greasy spoon, suddenly a fierce wind blew down upon them sending them spiraling out of the air.

The grease spoon is owned by a good-natured man who loves to cook for the people in his little town. One day Jose was cooking for his people and noticed that his kitchen was filling with smoke, knowing this he called a local hood cleaning company. They came and cleaned his hood or did they? Jose is a trusting man, he noticed that the inside of the hood was cleaned and figure he hired a honest company, assuming the entire system was cleaned and degreased, Jose continued on with his daily life cooking for his people. Above the daily operations, behind the filters, hidden from the public lurked a cunning, sadistic, enemy, “The Greaser.” The Greaser hates Jose, so he hides waiting, plotting, scheming, gaining in strength until he can carry out his plan of devastation. The Greaser had planed to launch his plan weeks earlier but he suffered losses when Jose called in Acme Hood Cleaners. The Greaser was badly wounded but no beaten. The Greaser had hidden much of his forces in the duct and on the roof, fortunately for him Acme Hood Cleaners never went on the roof and never cleaned in the duct.

Today was the day, The Greaser was finally ready his forces were spread out, his close ally “The Flamer” new the plan. Together they would burn Jose’s greasy spoon to the ground. All they had to do was wait, they new that at lunch time Jose would cook hundreds of burgers and then The Flamer would have his chance, he would hurl him self from the Char-broiler and unite with The Greaser and the two of them would lay siege to the Ansel fire suppression system and over whelm it with sheer numbers. With Ansel out of the way they would conquer Jose’s lifes work, robbing him of everything he loved.

Spiraling out of control the swarm is at the mercy of nature, and nature would deal them a terrible hand. Pushed down by unseen forces Tanz’s father leads the swarm to the safety of a roof. All landed safely and none of the swarm is injured, the Queen praised Tanz’s father for his heroism. But then one of the swarm screamed and soon most of the swarm was screaming. The entire swarm had landed in a sticky substance, none of them could move, the harder they tried to get lose the more stuck they became. Tanz’s father again took control, he calmed them formed a plan and put it into effect. Just millimeters from Tanz were the remains of a bird that had suffered the same slow death the swarm was now facing. Using one of the bones Tanz’s father was able to release himself from the warm gooey hands of death. Tanz’s father flew to him plucked him from death and set him atop a vent to rest while he went back for his mother the Queen and the rest of the swarm. Sadly this would be the last time Tanz would ever see his father alive.

Below the swarm above the union of The Greaser and The Flamer came to be. In a stunning display of fearless disregard the Flamer launched from below a top a patty of meat, dancing on the air just above he whirled around from patty to patty until just the right moment. As Jose flipped a patty The Flamer jumped stretching himself to the out reached hand of The Greaser. The Ansel moved in for the attack but it was to late. The combined force was to great and soon they had conquered the filters, duct, and fan. As The Flamer roared on to the roof in the flash of an eye. Tanz’s father was consumed along with the entire swarm. Tanz could do nothing but watch in shock and horror as The Flamer took the wings and legs of his family, he watched as they were reduced to their exoskeletons he could hear their screams just before their bodies exploded. There was nothing Tanz could do, after The Flamer was done and gone Tanz flew over the ash left from the swarm, he heard a whisper. Flying forward it got louder and soon he saw his father, wingless, legless, missing his antenna, and just a few short breaths from death. Tanz landed rolled his father from danger, after telling him how proud he was him, Tanz’s father died.

There on that roof he vowed that he would seek his vengeance. Over time he learned of the alliance between The Greaser and The Flamer. He learned that the really murderer was The Greaser, that he had just used The Flamer to accomplish his dirty deeds. Tanz studied his enemy, learned his ways, found his weaknesses. Tans found his own allies, Landa, Spin-Jet, and Big Brut. He vowed to rid the world of The Greaser one hood system at a time.
